FireProof - Lyrics

To bring some meaning and help from these songs ...

So, how does Johann Sebastian's cousin justify directing you to a
place where you'll hear some pretty loud electric band music?
It's not my listening choice.  Yet there is some real help being offered
here, and I appreciate the heart of the producers ... to help our
marriages.   Marriage is under attack.  The focus here is how a man can better understand and LOVE his wife.  ... what am I getting myself into?!

If you can't quite catch the words in two of the music videos (which were once on on the preview site but may not be now), then they won't be of
any help or challenge to you.  Make sure you have the words of the
songs in front of you (I've typed them out below), then watch the
videos here - www.fireproofthemovie.com

 "Love is not a Fight"

Love is not a place, to come and go as we please.
It's a house we enter in, then commit, to NEVER leave.

So lock the door behind you, throw away the key.
Work it out together, let it bring us to our knees.

Love is a shelter, in a raging storm.
Love is a peace, in the middle of a war.

If we try to leave, may God send angels to guard the door.
No, love is not a fight, but it's something worth fighting for.

To some, love is a word, that they can "fall into,"
but when they're "falling out," keeping that word is hard to do.

Love is a shelter, in a raging storm.
Love is a peace, in the middle of a war.

And if we try to leave, may God send angels to guard the door.
No, love is not a fight, but it's something worth fighting for.

"Love" will come to save us, if we'll only call.
HE will ask nothing from us, but DEMAND we GIVE OUR ALL.

Love is a shelter, in a raging storm.
Love is a peace, in the middle of a war.

If we try to leave, may God send angels to guard the door.
No, love is not a fight, but it's something worth fighting for.

Yes, I will fight FOR you
Would you fight FOR me?

It's WORTH fighting for.

 "Slow Fade"

(The harsh music depicts the depression, deception, and impending destruction -- yet THE CLOCK TURNS BACK in time until we end with simple truths being innocently sung by their daughter.  It is now an
earlier day - the simple yet crucial point of decision in the Daddy's life.
It is a "fork in the road" with two paths in front of him.  With his daughter in his arms, she asks "do you have to?"  He thinks hard, and chooses the right path.  He LEADS his "heart," instead of following it.
You end up seeing the good family with great potential.  We must guard
our hearts and work at it always.  May God help us to "see" our forks in
the road - and may we LEAD our heart in doing what is right and good.)

Be careful little eyes what you see ...
it's the second glance that ties your hands,
as darkness pulls the string.

Be careful little feet where you go ...
it's the little feet behind you,
that are sure, to follow.

It's a slow fade,
when you give yourself away.

It's a slow fade,
when black and white are turned to grey.

And thoughts invade ... choices made ...
  a price will be paid,
when you give yourself away.

People never crumble in a day.
It's a slow fade, a slow fade.

Be careful little ears what you hear ...
a little flattery leads to compromise,
the end is always near.

Be careful little lips what you say ...
  for empty words and promises,
lead broken hearts astray.

It's a slow fade,
when you give yourself away.

It's a slow fade ...

The Journey from your mind to your hands,
is shorter than you're thinking.

Be careful if you think you stand,
'cause you just might be sinking.

It's a slow fade ...

People never crumble in a day,
Daddies never crumble in a day,
Families never crumble in a day.

"Oh, be careful little eyes what you see,
for your Father up above is looking down in love,
oh be careful little eyes what you see."

"Daddy, where are you going?"
" ... I've got to go on a ... business trip."
"Do you HAVE TO?" ...
"...  ... Well ... maybe they can do without me this time."
